Ston and Mali Ston were established in 1333. This place is famous for its 5,5 km long city walls which is the longest fortification system in Europe, the rector’s palace, chancellery of the republic of Dubrovnik, St. Blasius church ( city patron), especially delicious oysters and shells as well as the old salt works, in which the salt is still manufactured in the old manner.
Korcula, one of the most beautiful cities at the Adriatic coast was established by the Greeks in the 3rd century BC. The Greeks named it “Black Corfu” because of the dense pine-woods. The town Korcula is known as the birth place of Marco Polo. The plurality of cultural monuments as well as the famous stonemason, shipbuilders and sailors gave Korcula a special charme.
On our tour we will see the city loggia, Renaissance palaces, the cathedrale of st.Marco, the city patron with the altar leaf of Jacopo Tintoretto, Bishops palace with rich treasure convent, the city museum (the former Renaissance palace of Gabriel from the 16th century) as well as the town hall square.
Following the journey to Peninsula Peljesac , which is known for the red wine region of the varietal Dingac and Mali Plavac. We drive over the wine yards along the steep southern coast ( viticulture from the 3rd century BC) and visit a typical wine cellar with following wine tasting.
